Just a small part of the Adventure
Evening arrived, and it was starting to cool off outside. Krissy and Marsi decided to go for a walk and stretch their legs a bit. They wandered out of the hotel and started to head towards the centre of the city. The men sitting in the van spotted them.
“Is that two of the girls?” asked one of them.
“Yes, it looks like them.”
“Quick, call the others. We’ll follow them at a discreet distance until the others come.”
“Then what?”
“We’ll stop them and tell them we want to meet Datch.”
“And if they say no?”
“I don’t know.”
They started up the van and drove down the road a bit until they were out of sight of the hotel and waited for the girls to come down the road.
“Let’s ask them now.”
“What, without the others?”
“We might lose them.”
“Good point.”
They got out of the van and pretended to be checking a drainpipe until the girls got to them.
As Krissy and Marsi approached them, one of the men turned to face her.
“Good afternoon, ladies. I wonder if you may be able to help me?”
Krissy looked at him. “Good afternoon. If you’re lost, I’m sorry, but we’re not from around here.”
“No, but you are members of the Pack, are you not?”
Krissy looked at Marsi for a moment and then turned back to the man. “If you’re after free tickets, they are all sold out.”
“No, we want to meet Datch!”
“Sorry, that won’t be possible. We only do public signings at set times.”
“No, we really need to see Datch!”
“I’m sorry, but he won’t just meet people. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we need to go.”
The other man pulled out a gun and pointed it at them. “Get in the van!” he said loudly.
They looked at the gun. The other man opened the side door.
“You won’t get away with it,” said Marsi.
“Just shut up and get in the van.”
The two girls got in the van, and the guy with the gun followed them. The other guy went around and got in the driver’s seat.
“I had better call the others.” He picked up his vid com and called an ID.
“Hello, we have the girls in the back of the van.”
There was faint squawking from the vid com.
“Well, no, they’re at gunpoint.”
There was a lot of squawking.
“We didn’t have much choice.”
There was a lot more squawking.
“Okay, see you shortly.”
“What did he say?” said the man with the gun.
“Er, he’s not happy.”
